Obituary of Phyllis Armstrong Fox

Wayland / South Yarmouth, Ma - Phyllis Adele Armstrong Fox, 85 years of age, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, Sunday, September 11, 2016, at home with her family by her side. She was the loving Mother of the late Thomas J. Fox and Christopher A. Fox who survives. Phyllis was born and raised in Wayland, May 11, 1931 the daughter of Earl and (Laura Beebe) Armstrong. Phyllis moved to Belmont, MA and finally settled in Waltham for 40 years on Circle Drive. In 2005 she moved to Yarmouth, MA where she resided for the past several years. She worked as a legal secretary for the law firm Lane and Altman for many years before retiring. Phyllis always wanted to stay busy, so after a brief retirement she took a job at Fanny Farmer Candies at the Burlington Mall. She said that was her favorite job, and how seeing everyone leaving with candy and smiles made her day. Phyllis may be gone in body but not in spirit. Phyllis was pre-deceased by her parents, Earl and Laura Armstrong and a son Thomas Armstrong; Phyllis is survived by her son Christopher Fox of MA. Phyllis’s family and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 11am – 12pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Her funeral service will be at 12pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at the Village Cemetery, Wayland.
