Obituary of DeMerle H. Sylor
Dansville – DeMerle H. Sylor, 74 years of age, passed away Friday December 23, 2016 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris.
DeMerle was born September 7, 1942 in Dansville the son of Everett and Henrietta (Hoag) Sylor. He grew up in and remained a Dansville resident until his move to Mt. Morris several years ago. He spent 6 years in the National Guard and his employment career was mostly self-employed as a general contractor. He was the owner and operator of DeMerle Sylor Construction Company Inc. DeMerle enjoyed scouting as a young boy. He was involved with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and earned the level of Eagle Scout. As the years went on, he enjoyed being involved with the Westview Hunt Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising horses.
DeMerle was pre-deceased by his parents Everett and Henrietta Sylor; and his brother, Don Sylor. He is survived by his daughter Tammy Sylor Malone of Dansville; his grandson, Everett Malone of Dansville; his brother Ron (Josephine) Sylor of Dansville; his sister-in-law Sue Sylor; along with several nieces and nephews.
DeMerle’s funeral service will be private and at the convenience of his family. DeMerle and his family has been assisted by the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland, NY.
