Obituary of John William Miller

Rochester / Springwater – John William Miller, 91 years of age, passed away Monday morning April 17, 2017 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. John was born in Springwater April 1, 1926, the son of John W. and Anna (Mark) Miller. He grew up in the Springwater/Wayland areas and 55 years ago moved to Rochester where he resided ever since. John and Sylvia Monte were married May 20, 1967 at St. John’s Church in Clyde, NY. Together they have celebrated close to 50 years of marriage. John worked on his family farm in Springwater for many years and then began a career as a pipefitter at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, retiring in 1986. John was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt deer and turkey and he especially loved coming down to the family farm he still owned. John was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Anna Miller. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Miller of Rochester; his daughter, Lisa (Douglas) Noah of N. Chili and his son Timothy Miller of Sarasota, FL; his grandchildren, Ashley and Dylan; his brothers-in-law Larry Monte of Pittsford and David Monti of Seneca Falls; along with nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John on Friday at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church, 206 Fremont St., Wayland. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Wayland. Contributions in memory of John W.
