Obituary of Scott D. Emmons

Wayland – Scott D. Emmons, 65 years of age, passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018. 

Scott was born August 24, 1952 in Wayland the son of Benjamin and Laura (Fairbrother) Emmons.  He grew up in Atlanta and resided there the majority of his life until moving to Wayland six years ago.  Scott was a 1970 graduate of Wayland Central School. Scott and Becky Glady were married June 28, 1975 and together have celebrated over 42 years of marriage.  Scott’s employment career was mostly spent at the Kodak Company and later the Optimation Company (they purchsased the division he was working for).  He enjoyed over 30 years there retiring in 2015. 

Scott’s hobbies were many as he enjoyed going for long walks with his dog Ziya; putting together puzzles; watching NASCAR and Dirt Track Racing; attending Alfred University Football games; camping; especially bowling; and he loved going to his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Scott was pre-deceased by his parents, Benjamin and Laura Emmons; and his father and mother-in-law, Don and Nellie Glady.  He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Emmons of Wayland; his children, Lindsey (Chris) Mark of Wayland, Sara (Shane) Fiumera of Geneva and Lacey (Chris) Wahl of Cheektowaga; his grandchildren, Austin, Kailyn, Gabriel, Liam and Logan; his brother, Jeff (Kay) Emmons of Atlanta; his husky Ziya; along with extended family members that include brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Scott’s funeral service will be private and at the convenience of his family.   A graveside committal service will take place at a later date and will be announced.  Scott and his family have been assisted by the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, Wayland.
