Obituary of Doreen L. Lathrop
Wayland – Doreen L. Lathrop, 48 years of age, passed away early Thursday morning, January 24, 2019 at her home. Doreen was born January 19, 1971 in Hornell the daughter of Morse D. Lathrop and Rebecca R. Mosher.
Doreen grew up in and has resided in Wayland her entire life. She was a 1989 graduate of Wayland Central School and also graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business School in Rochester. Doreen was a home health aide for Health and Wellness of Leicester and also taught swimming at Honeoye School for a period of time. Doreen enjoyed reading, cooking, volunteering for local community groups and at Wayland-Cohocton School. However she mostly enjoyed spending time with her son Andrew. Doreen had a big heart and always liked helping out when she could. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Doreen is survived by her loving companion of 30 years, Richard Danielson and their son Andrew of Wayland; her mother, Rebecca Mosher of Arkport; Rich’s parents, Duane and Clara Danielson of Cohocton; her brothers, Joseph Lathrop of Dansville and James Lathrop (Richie Taft) of Rochester; her nephew Keenan; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Doreen’s family and friends may call Tuesday from 4-7pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Doreen’s funeral service will take place Wednesday at 11am at the funeral home. Committal prayers and interment will take place at Mt. Vernon Evergreen Cemetery in Springwater at the convenience of her family. Contributions in memory of Doreen L. Lathrop may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
