Obituary of Flora J. Shutt

Perkinsville - Livonia - Flora J. Shutt, 77 years of age, passed away early Monday afternoon at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. 

Flora was born December 26, 1941 in Andover the daughter of Niles Sherman and Doris Green.  She grew up in Andover and resided in Perkinsville for many years, a short time in Wayland and for the last 15 years or so in Livonia. Flora and Jimmy Shutt were married September 18, 1965 in Andover and together celebrated over 20 years of marriage prior to Jimmy passing away in June of 1986.  Flora was employed at Seneca Foods in Mt. Morris for many years along with A.B. Cowles in Wayland in her earlier life.  Flora enjoyed time as a senior companion for DDSO; enjoyed filling out crossword puzzles; assembling jigsaw puzzles and loved to listen to country music, especially Randy Travis. 

Flora was predeceased by her parents; her husband Jimmy Shutt; her great-grandson, Andrew; her brothers, Laverne, Harold and Merle Sherman.  She is survived by her children, Christine (Jose) Alvaradao of Livonia and Jerry (Julie) Shutt of Wayland; her grandchildren, Maria (Trevor) Francis of Rochester, Amanda (Shelby) Knapp of Spencerport, Chelsea Rader (Matt Gerard) of WA, Joshua Rader of Hemlock, Michael Shutt (Heather Vanson) of Wayland, BreAnna Shutt (Frank Schumacher) of Cohocton and Tiffany Shutt (Scott Schumacher) of Cohocton; her great-grandchildren, Max, Oliver, Deven, Aaron, Bentley, Blake, Aleah, Amelia, Gregory and Mackenzie; her sister, Carol Snyder of Almond; her brothers, Donnie (Mabel) Sherman of Belmont and Bob (Judy) Sherman of Seattle, WA; along with several nieces and nephews. 

Flora's family and friends may call Thursday from 12-2pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland.  Flora's funeral service will be conducted immediately following calling hours at 2pm at the funeral home.  Interment and committal prayers will take place immediately following at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Perkinsville.
