Obituary of Edith Donna Marie Blake
Hornell - Edith Donna Marie Blake, 59 years of age, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Edith was born September 24, 1959 in Ithaca, NY the daughter of Daniel and Gloria (McKenna) Blake. She grew up and resided in several different areas throughout her life including Ithaca, Webster’s Crossing, Springwater, Wayland, NC, Cohocton and for the past 12 years, Hornell. Edith has been employed by the Hornell City School District as a bus driver for the past several years. Her hobbies were many as she enjoyed going to parks, especially Stony Brook, travelling internationally including Paris and Can Cun! She was very adventurous, loved the outdoors and loved spending time with her family!
Edith was pre-deceased by her daughter Amanda Carey; her mother Gloria Blake; and her brother-in-law, Jim Palmer. She is survived by her children, Angela Slayton (Randy Button) of Dansville, Carl Curtis (Ashley Francis) of Canadice, and Andrea (Peter) Roman of Avon; her fiancé, Rodney Warner of Hornell; her father Daniel Blake of Rochester; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jean Palmer, Louise Weidman, Patricia (Tom) Barber, Joan Shannon, and Susan Dehlmer; along with many nieces and nephews.
Edith's family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday June 15, 2019 at 11am at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland, NY. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at Covered Bridge Cemetery in Springwater
