Obituary of Charles Williams
Wayland – Charles Williams, 91 years of age, passed away Sunday November 3, 2019 after a brief illness, at his home on 410 Fremont St., surrounded by his family of friends.
Charles was born January 13, 1928 in Hempstead, Long Island the son of George and Doris (Puhl) Williams. He was a production worker at the ARC of Steuben for many years. Prior to moving to Wayland over 20 years ago, he resided in Hornell. Charles was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Wayland and during his younger years he was often seen walking around the village. He enjoyed dining out, organ music, turtles, crocodiles, trains, puzzles and playing cards. His favorite pastime recently has been watching Clint Eastwood movies, especially “Dirty Harry!”
Charles is pre-deceased by both of his parents. He is survived by his many family of friends at the ARC of Steuben locally here in Wayland and throughout the organization.
Charles’s family of friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday at 11am at the St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Wayland.
