Obituary of Theresa L. McDermott
Atlanta – Theresa L. McDermott, 30 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 19, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira, NY. Theresa was born October 12, 1989 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Lisa (Lewis) Steinmetz. Theresa has resided in Atlanta and Bath, NY. Theresa was a graduate of Wayland-Cohocton Central School class of 2006. She loved to listen to music, going camping with her family, spending time with her sister Allison, calling her Mom on the telephone at 4:00 am and continuing to call her until she did wake up just to talk. Theresa was a great talker, who also enjoyed coloring, spending time with her nephew David, shopping, going out to eat and picking on Don. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Theresa was pre-deceased by her maternal grandparents; James and Gloria Lewis, her brother; Ryan McDermott, her uncle’s; Robert Lewis, Terry and David Clark, an aunt; Linda Logan, a cousin; Julie Anne Saraco and her dog’s; Biscuit and Lizzy. She is survived by her mother and father Lisa Steinmetz and Donald Clark of Atlanta; her Dad Robert J. McDermott, her siblings, David Steinmetz, Joseph Steinmetz, Allison (Jeremy) Thomas and Jason McDermott (Whitney VanScoter); a brother; Bryon Clark, her nephew’s; Benson McDermott and David P. Steinmetz, her aunts and uncles; Sandy Lewis, Cathy (Matt) McCarthy and Patrick Logan and a cousin; Robert Lewis. Special Grandparents; Jake and Veronica Wiend. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and special longtime friends; Brenda, Randy and Brandon Yeoman.
Theresas family and friends may call Wednesday from 4:00-8:00pm at the St. George-Frosythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Theresas funeral service will be Wednesday at 8:00pm immediately following calling hours at the funeral home.
