As a new officer, Norb came off as the "grumpy" guy but as I got to know him, he was such a sweet man. He was protective in his own way but he would be the first one to call me on my crap. I had to go ride with him doing 'surveillance" and I kept asking if he smelled smoke... to which he would only grunt at me like I was a nuisance. Needless to say, the car we were in caught on fire! So, the bad guys went on their merry way and Norb & I were stranded.
To his loved ones, I am so sorry for your loss! He was a wonderful man who will be remembered fondly!
