Obituary of Shirley A. Slingerland

Livonia – Shirley Ann Slingerland, 70 years of age, passed away Wednesday February 23, 2022 at Highland Park Rehabilitation in Wellsville. Shirley was born August 8, 1951, in Rochester the daughter of Herbert and Carleen (Swan) Every. Throughout the years Shirley has resided in many different local areas including, Webster’s Crossing, Lakeville, Wayland, Conesus, Mt. Morris and for the past several years Livonia. She had worked at different jobs throughout the years including, Kaufman’s Department Store, Brian’s USA Diner, Sam; Restaurant and at the Wayland-Cohocton School bus garage. Shirley’s hobbies were many. She love to read – especially Harlequin Romance novels; crocheting and knitting; word searches; jigsaw puzzles; coloring; and playing cards – especially euchre and solitaire. Shirley was pre-deceased by her father, Herbert Every; and her son William Slingerland Jr. She is survived by her longtime companion Charles Gascon of Livonia; her daughter, Bonnie (Karl) Wiedemann of Lakeville; her mother, Carleen Rhode of FL; her grandchildren, Kristopher Wiedemann (Abby Lamark) of Rochester and Nicole (Troy) Schneider of Lakeville; 4 great grandchildren, Gabriella, Lukas, Harper and Noah; several siblings; along with Charlie’s family. Shirley’s family and friends are invited to her funeral service on Saturday March 5, 2022 at11am St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Committal and interment will take place at a later date at Mt. Vernon Evergreen Cemetery in Springwater. Contributions in memory of Shirley A.
