Obituary of Stephen M. Simonowicz

Wayland – Stephen M. Simonowicz Sr., 90 years of age, passed away late Tuesday afternoon October 6th, 2015 at Elcor Health Facility in Horseheads. Steve was born August 28th, 1925 in Trenton, NJ the son of Stephan and Anna (Colten) Simonowics. He grew up in Trenton and resided in many different areas throughout the years including, Yardley, PA, Newtown, PA, Toms River, NJ and for the last nine years in Wayland. Steve and Loretta Wilno married September 5th, 1949 and together they have celebrated over 66 years of marriage. Steve served his country in the United States Army during World War II form November 24th, 1943 until his honorable discharge April 11th, 1946. He was a sales representative for Gerber Foods for 25 years and upon his retirement from there he worked part time for Shop Rite for 10 years. Steve’s hobbies were many. He loved building his own house wherever he lived as he was an accomplished carpenter. He thoroughly enjoyed working outdoors whether he was cutting trees or landscaping, he just loved being outside. Steve was pre-deceased by his parents; along with his siblings. He is survived by his wife, Loretta G. Simonowicz of Wayland; his son, Stephen (Janet) Simonowicz of Wayland; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-n-law, Mary Lou (Phil) Torotto of Trenton, NJ (Hamilton township) and Joan Brooks of Levitown, PA. Steve’s family and friends will attend private funeral services at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Memorial contributions in Stephen M.
