Obituary of Norman E. Jones Jr.

Wayland – Norman E. Jones Jr., 61 years of age, passed away Thursday August 17, 2023 at his Southview IRA home in Wayland where he has resided for the past several years. Norman was born December 30, 1961 in Warsaw the son of Norman E. Sr. and Yvonne (Didas) Jones. He lived the majority of his life in the Hornell area prior to moving to Wayland many years ago. Norman loved music and he especially enjoyed playing the piano. He also had an incredible knack for remembering dates in history and the days they corresponded with in the past. Norman is pre-deceased by his mother, Yvonne Didas; and his aunts, Phyllis Smith and Lorraine Meyer. He is survived by his brothers, William Jones of Wayland and Randall Jones of Hornell; several cousins; and his caretakers and friends at the Southview IRA and Finger Lakes DDSO. Norman’s family and friends may call Monday August 28, 2023 from 1-2pm at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. His funeral service will be at the conclusion of calling hours at 2pm at the funeral home. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
