Obituary of Hope L. Swarts

Bath – Hope L. Swarts, 59 years of age, passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, Tuesday evening, October 3, 2023. Hope was born April 10, 1964 in Wayland the daughter of Raymond C. and F. Eloise (Harter) Swarts. She grew up in South Dansville and was a 1982 graduate of Dansville Central School. Throughout the years, Hope resided in South Dansville, Ossian, Hammondsport from the mid 1990’s until her move to Bath in 2006 where she has resided ever since. Hope loved collecting carousel horses; porcelain dolls; watching birds and butterflies; watching old movies and listening to all kinds of music. She enjoyed babysitting, taking care of children and she especially loved animals. Hope was pre-deceased by her parents, Raymond and Eloise Swarts; her fiancé, Joseph Hammond: and her sister in law, Carol Swarts. She is survived by her brother, Dale Swarts of Loon Lake; her sister Gale Schirmer of Bath; her foster brother Harold Wright of Elmira; her niece and nephews, Stephani Bautista of Wayland, Jason (Yvonne) Plummer of Ladson, SC, Donald Schirmer Jr. of Fremont, Colby Schirmer and Brock Schirmer both of Bath; aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members; along with many dear friends. Contributions in memory of Hope L. Swarts may be made to Finger Lakes SPCA, 72 Cameron St, Bath, NY 14810. Hope’s family and friends may call Saturday October 21, 2023 from 11am – 12pm St. Peter’s Church, Perkinsville. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm at the church. Committal and interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
