Obituary of Louise M. McConnell

Wayland – Louise M. “Mitzi” McConnell, 85 passed away October 28th, 2015 in Rochester, NY. Mitzi was born February 13th, 1930 in Wayland the daughter of Herman and Florence (Hemmer) Last. She grew up in Wayland and graduated from Wayland Central School. Mitzi and Keith McConnell were married and together resided in many different areas throughout the United States and Europe as a result of Keith’s military service. In the last several years, Mitzi has resided in both Wayland and Florida until her move to Rochester a year ago. Mitzi was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Perkinsville. She enjoyed traveling, reading, music, dancing and many different forms of entertainment as she appreciated going to different shows. Mitzi was pre-deceased by her parents; and her brother, Herman Last. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Kevin (Maria) McConnell of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kurt (Lisa) McConnell of Mendon and Kelly (Yashira) McConnell of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her grandchildren, Nicolas, Benjamin, Colette, Maria and Jonathon; her sister, Barbara (Paul) Gerling of Wayland; along with nieces and nephews. Mitzi’s family and friends may call Friday from 4:00 – 6:00pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. A prayer service will take place Saturday at 10:15 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mitzi Saturday at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church in Perkinsville. Committal prayers and internment will take place immediately following at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
