Obituary of Joseph G. Snyder

Atlanta – Joseph G. Snyder, 59 years of age, passed away Tuesday evening, October 17, 2023 at his home in Atlanta. Joe was born January 8, 1964 in Rochester the son of Jay T. and Muriel (Hatch) Snyder. He was born in Rochester, moved to Nunda and attended Keshequa Central School. Joe went on to serve his country in the United States Navy and proceeded to reside in different areas of Virginia including Richmond, Reston and Front Royal. On May 1, 2004, Joe and Molly Fasick were married in Aldie, VA and together have celebrated over 19 years of marriage. In 2016 they moved to Atlanta, NY where they have resided since. Joe was a dedicated Bigfoot researcher, loved ghost tours, nonfiction and was a huge fan of Ted Lasso and Star Trek. Joe’s employment spanned a few different areas throughout life. He was the doorman at Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern in Herndon, VA, a security guard for the Red Cross, installed luxury home elevators, an armed security guard for the Islamic Saudi Academy in Alexandria, VA and most recently delivery for DoorDash in Canandaigua. Joe was pre-deceased by his parents, Jay and Muriel Snyder; his second wife, Kathy Snyder; his brothers, Jay and Robert Snyder; his sister, Winifred Snyder; his half-sisters, Linda Kulzer and Deltha Huckleberry. He is survived by his wife, Molly Snyder of Atlanta, NY; his sister, Jill (Lanny) Hotelling of Middlesex and his brother Stanton Snyder of Bend, OR; his nieces and nephews, Andrea, Lanine, Robert, Michael, Albert, Carrie and Melinda; along with other great and great-great nieces and nephews. Joe’s celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Nunda Historical Society, 24 Portage St, Nunda, NY 14517.
