So sorry for your loss. "Uncle Eddie" used to let me eat his Hershey's chocolate bars which he kept in the glove compartment of his car when I was a child. I did that every time I saw him !! I always remember him being fun and playful with us and having excellent carpentry skills too.
Blessings,
Gail King (Skerencak)

Wish I was there in person to celebrate my
Grandpas celebration of life with my mom and brother and his friends. My Grandpa had a great life, 91 years is wonderful, and I’m happy to know he’s with my Grandma in heaven, which gives me great comfort. The nickname I gave my him was ‘Whackadoo’ he could be a little nutty at times which brought a smile on my face, even when talking on the phone. I would egg him on just to see what he’ll say next to keep the conversation going and see what absurd thing he would reply with. Lol
Im blessed to have said one last “Merry Christmas Grandpa, and love you”.
He lived it his way, as his wishes were to pass in his house he worked hard on even in his 90s, and now it’s time to celebrate him.
Rest Easy Whackadoo

To my Dearest Grandpa Ed-
You will be remembered, as you have been while distance has separated us. Every time my foot is bare, you are with me. The small scarred bubble on the top reminds me of our quality time together on construction sites, even though one time it ended up with a unfortunate nail incident. Good news, wounds heal and there was no time for hysteria as your calm, loving demeanor swept me up. I cannot remember a time where you were anything other than loving, patient, kind and endearing on all levels. You treated me as your own grandchild. I never knew my father, nor my grandfather and lacked for absolutely nothing because of your beauty and love. Thank you for explaining woodworking, how to drive a truck in the snow, how to love dogs, how to choose to throw up and keep calm (my belly was rotten as a child), how to engage in loving verbal banter and how to find nature intriguing/connect to it. In the end, I have carried your steadfast demeanor forward and am grateful for your care and tenderness. If anyone deserves those pearly gates - its you. I hope the path is wide and free.
