Obituary of Ann M. (Malone) Hoppough
Springwater – Ann M. (Malone) Hoppough, 84 years of age, passed away Tuesday March 19, 2024 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. A special thank you to FF Thompson Hospital ER and ICU Staff for their care and compassion.
Ann was born September 26, 1939 in Rochester the daughter of Gilbert and Anna (Wescott) Malone. She grew up in Honeoye and in 1954 moved to the Springwater area where she has resided ever since. Ann and Carlton Hoppough were married August 30, 1958 and together celebrated over 59 years together prior to Carlton passing away in May of 2018. Throughout the years, Ann worked at A.B. Cowles, Bausch and Lomb and at Honeoye Central School. However the majority of her life, Ann was a homemaker for her family.
Ann was a member of the Springwater Church of the Nazarene ever since the very early days of the church. She would help and volunteer whenever she could and played the organ for many years there. Ann also enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables, crocheting and knitting. She was the Secretary and Treasurer of the Covered Bridge – Evergreen Cemetery Committee for over 50 years. However, Ann’s greatest joy was her family, especially feeding them!
Ann was predeceased by her parents, Gilbert and Anna Malone; her husband Carlton Hoppough; two brothers and their wives, William (Jean) Malone and Kenneth (Barbara) Malone. She is survived by her children, Robert (Amy) Hoppough of CO, Christine Bonham of WY and Matthew (Katie) Hoppough of Springwater; her grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas, Amanda (George), Seth, Jacob, Hannah, Morgan, Sarah and Kaylee; her great grandchildren, Wheeler, Audi, Lincoln and Abel; her siblings, James (Ruth) Malone of Wayland, Shirley Belcher of Bloomfield, Jack (Ruth) Malone of Livonia Center, Dick (Diane) Malone of Springwater, Linda (RJ) Pfuntner of Springwater, Carol Hoerner of TN, David (Beth) Malone of Victor, Kathy (Dave) Malone of Ontario, NY, Fern (Russ) Piriano of Henrietta, and Jackie Malone (Jan O’Neil) of Springwater; many many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and her beloved dog, Maddie.
Ann’s family and friends may call Sunday March 24, 2024 from 1-4pm at St. George-Forsythe Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Ann’s funeral service will be Monday March 25, 2024 at 11am at the Springwater Church of the Nazarene. Committal prayers and interment will take place immediately following at Covered Bridge-Evergreen Cemetery in Springwater.
