Obituary of Lois Lemen Sanford

Springwater - Dansville - Lois Lemen Sanford, age 94, of Canandaigua, NY, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024. Born on December 4, 1929 in Dansville, NY, to the late William S. and Florentine Everman Lemen, Lois lived a long and full life, deeply rooted in love, family, and her passion for animals. Lois was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Sanford, and her son, David Sanford. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Jane, Dorothy, Walter, Frederick, Theodore, Jack, and Bill Lemen. Lois is survived by her daughter, Lisa Olver (Neil); her grandchildren, Meaghan (Alyssa), Ryan (Jody), and Mariah; her cherished great-grandchildren, Samuel, Silas, Leia, Anna, Knox, Weston, and Zoey; and her sister Mary Kay Lemen. Her love of animals was evident throughout her life, and she carried this kindness in all her relationships. Lois will be remembered for her gentle spirit, the strength she displayed through life’s many challenges, and her deep love for her family. A graveside service will be held to honor her memory on Sunday, October 27th at 1:00pm at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville. All are welcome to attend.
