Obituary of Karen A. (Russell) Smith

Wayland – Karen A. (Russell) Smith, 58 years of age, passed away early Thursday morning March 31, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Karen was born July 5th, 1957 the daughter of Lowell and Yvonne (Houck) Russell. She grew up in Perkinsville and has remained a resident of the Perkinsville / Wayland areas her entire life. Karen had a love for animals, reading, completing puzzles and plants. Wherever she visited she enjoyed bringing a plant home from that area. Karen also had a great sense of humor, even during her stay at Strong Memorial Hospital where she had the nurses laughing. Karen was pre-deceased by her father, Lowell Russell; and a grand-daughter, Patricia Clark. She is survived by her children, Bobbi (Itai) Nemovicher of Reno, NV, Sarah (Troy) Braziel of Cohocton, Adam (Ashley) Hoffman of Honeoye, Ian VanScooter of Lakeville, Jasmine VanScooter of Springwater; her mother, Yvonne Russell of Wayland; her grandchildren, Anna and Sheya Nemovicher, and Haley and Franki Braziel; her sisters, Linda Dixon of Ocala, FL, Yvonne Driesbach of Perkinsville, and Sandy Springer of TX; along with several nieces and nephews. Karen’s family and friends may call Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Her funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
